Tetherball :)
Wednesday, 11 April 2012 • 22:52 • 1 comments

Assalamuallaikum and hye :) this entry , we talk about a TETHERBALL game . want to know more ? just read this    :)

Tetherball is a North American game for two opposing players. The equipment consists of a stationary metal pole, from which is hung a volleyball from a rope, or tether. The two players stand on opposite sides of the pole. Each player tries to hit the ball one way; one clockwise, and one counter (anti-) clockwise. The game ends when one player manages to wind the ball all the way around the pole so that it is stopped by the rope. It must not bounce.

(RULES)

Rules can be found at The World Tetherball Association based in Palm Springs California. The game begins when one player serves the ball, usually by hitting it off the post, or after the opposing player serves it he can not hit it until the other player touches it. The opposing player then attempts to return the serve by hitting it in the opposite direction. The object is to hit the ball in such a way that one's opponent will be unable to alter the ball's direction. This gives the server an advantage since the server has more control over the ball from the beginning. It is generally acceptable to hit the ball with either the fist or the open hand or swing. The Players pick if a "cherrybomb" is legal but is usually legal in official games.
A player can commit a violation by stepping onto his opponent's half of the pole, by catching and throwing the ball (a "crossy"), by striking the rope instead of the ball (a "ropey"), by hitting the ball twice before it has either circled the pole or been returned by the opponent or, in some variants, struck the pole (a "double touchie"). Generally, after a violation occurs, the game pauses and the ball is returned to the position it was in before the violation; the number of wraps around the pole is re-created (or a penalty-wrap is awarded to the player who did not commit the foul). The player who did not commit the violation then serves the ball. If, however, the violation appears to be intentional, it may result in loss of game.
The game ends when one player hits the ball around the pole in their own direction as far as it will go, so that the ball hits the pole. In addition, the ball must strike the pole with the final wrap above a line marked on the pole. A 5-foot-high (1.5 m) mark is satisfactory, though a lower mark might be used for younger players. A match can go on for at least 2 or more games.

Axolotls are neotenic, meaning that they spend their lives looking like larvae, complete with gills, weak legs, and finlike extensions on their back and tail. Axolotls were once believed to be of the same species as tiger salamanders; while they're close relatives, though, they're not the same. Axolotls are much smaller than neotenic tigers (they're about the same size as adult tigers), and axolotls only come from two lakes in Mexico; they're extinct (or nearly so) in the wild but have been bred for so long as laboratory animals and catfish bait that they're relatively common in captivity. Rumor has it that the axolotl is the only salamander one can legally keep in Australia. I don't know if this is true.
It's been said that axolotls will eat anything they can fit into their mouths. This is not quite true. They will eat ANYTHING. I've never seen an axolotl choke on a fish that was too big for it, but I'm willing to believe it's happened. Their appetites are similar to those of Xenopus laevis, if that helps. They will eat pellets but prefer live guppies, rosy reds, or appropriately-sized goldfish.
Fish gravel makes a bad substrate for the tank; the axolotls may swallow it, with disastrous effects. Use stones that are larger than the axolotl's mouths (stealing large gravel from other people's driveways often works well). Axolotls are well-suited for a 5 or 10 gallon tank that is periodically stripped down and the parts cleaned -- they're messier than a filter can handle, care little about water conditions, and can't live with other fish. 2.5 gallons per axolotl is a good ratio. Larval tiger salamanders should be cared for identically.

On Tuesday , one of our friend ask question , "We no need to pay for the school fee ?" . The relief teacher , Teacher Sharni said , she think that we do not need to pay the fee . Yet , we need to pay for the modules each subject . Now , there nothing is gratuitous . She told us , Why students throw papers that teacher gave to them likes modules for each subject or any homework paper . You know that the paper is made up from tree , right ? You also know that , we need trees to breath fresh air because trees give us oxygen . If not , where we must get oxygen if many trees were cut down for made the papers for students but students waste it  . We waste the papers that means we waste our trees which is very important living things that we need to stay alive .

The Iguazu Falls , Argentina
Saturday, 28 January 2012 • 21:34 • 4 comments

Salam , readers . Today , I write a entry about a place which is Iguazu Falls . Seriously , before this I even don't know this place . But , when our English teacher , Sir Rahim . He want we to write about 7 wonders of nature in the world . But it almost 3 weeks ago .

(Scenery of The Iguazu  Falls , Argentina)

You can see the picture of The Iguazu Falls located at Argentina . I want to share a little bit of it geography .
Iguazu Falls is located where the Iguazu tumbles over the edge of the Parana Plateau , 23 kilometers (14mi) upriver from the Iguazu's confluence with the Parana River . Numerous islands along the 2.7 kilometer (1.7 mi) long edge divide the falls into numerous separate waterfalls and cataracts , varying between 60 metres (200 ft) and 82 metres (269 ft) high . The number of these smaller waterfalls fluctuates from 150 to 300 , depending on the water level . About half of the river's flow falls into a long and narrow chasm called Devil's Throat . The Devil's Throat is U - shaped , 82 meter high , 150 meter wide and 700 meter long . Place names have been given also to many other smaller falls , such as San Martin Falls , Bossetti Falls and many others . About 900 meters of the 2.7 kilometer length does not have water flowing over it . The edge of the basalt cap recedes by 3 mm (0.1 in) per year . The water of the lower Iguazu collects in a canyon that drains in the Parana River , a short distance downstream from the Itaipu Dam . The junction of the water flows marks the border between Brazil , Argentina and Paraguay . The Iguazu River where the borders of all three countries can be seen , a popular tourist attraction for visitors to the three cities .

Do We Really Need A Wrist Watch ?
Friday, 20 January 2012 • 23:32 • 6 comments

Hello Readers , Sir Rahim said , 'If a man wear a wrist watch , he will look like a gentleman' . I think , that was right . And , this entry about the Do We Really Need A Wrist Watch To Keep Time ? ..

In primitive society, man tells the time by daily rising and setting of the sun or the moon, and accurate report of the cock crows. When I was young, my parents used to guess time by cock crow during the night, first crow, second, and the third crow.
Quite early in the history of the civilized world, man need some more exact way of telling the time, so a variety of primitive devices were invented. The Sundial is the oldest timekeepers. It was succeeded, about 300 B.C. by Water-clock, which either sank by slow leakage or had a float operating a dial mechanically. Some 600 years later came the Hour Glass or Sand Glass. Then followed by the clumsy devices of the medieval blacksmith, dress pocket watch, wrist watch no larger than a coin, electronic clock and watch which we can plug in to electric circuit or use battery.
In the history, we also had many other timekeeping devices, such as King Alfred’s Candle clock, Chinese Incense clock, or Japanese Lamp Clock. In the medieval town, a night watchmen were once employed to call the hours in the darkness.
What a variety of timekeepers! But these are all of the past. A Sundial is now only an ornament in our gardens, I haven’t seen a real Hour Glass in my life time except for pictures on a book or internet, or my mouse pointer that changes to Sand Glass when a Windows program stops responding. No longer do we depend for the time upon the sound of a temple or church bell.
Modern time is told in modern ways. The golden age of the clock industry has obviously gone, the question is now when will people stop buying a mechanical or electric clock or a luxury wrist watch?
When my finished studying in the university, he left me many stuffs which he couldn't take back home with him, including one alarm clock. One day I astonishingly found that the clock hands were all missing, a clock without hands! Then I spotted one small hand on the floor, another one was in my daughter's hands, she used that as a bubble blower. Although the naughty girl has opened the lid, pulling out all the hands, the clock can still "Tick-Tock", it's still working.
But I didn’t felt angry about my daughter, because what do we need a watch or alarm clock for? If everybody has a mobile, or update your mobile once a year? You can always check you mobile for time.
You may have a computer in your room, and you always sit in front of your computer, even you have nothing to do, still keep online, keep clicking around, then you want to know what time it is, because your stomach is rumbling. You don't lift up you wrist but look at the bottom-right corner of your computer screen for time instead, because you haven't got a watch on your wrist.
But you may haven't got a computer, and you must have a telephone in your room, it should also tell you the time unmistakably.
OK, you are watching television, you don't want bother to check the telephone, some TV channels itself can also let you know the time.
Your cooker may have a timer, or the boiler timer in your kitchen cupboard, also displays the time.
Then you plan out and about, you packed everything but your mobile phone , or you have brought it with you, it's in you pocket, but the battery is gone. You may look around to find a big clock at the street corner or on the nearby church tower.
If you can't find one, or although there is a tower clock, it’s not working, and you don’t bother to ask a passerby for time, then you go to a store to buy a pack of chewing gum, the time you need to know is printed on the receipt.
Those luxury wrist watches or antique “father clocks” are only for showoff or investing, the original timekeeping function has been gradually replaced by identity and social status symbol. Traditional clock or watch now can be classified into jewelry.
So what’s the future of a clock industry? The only way can a wrist watch survive in the electronic age is adapting itself, combining a wrist watch with a smart phone.
And now we may already find many wrist watch phones for sell. Such a small phone has strong functions. It may be equipped with FM radio; a pinhole webcam which can shoot undercover; supports mp3/mp4 player function; it include Bluetooth for data transfer; GPRS for you to moving around; Touch screen, Wi-Fi or 3G internet connection and many apps such as for Twitter and Face book, even integrates an on-screen keyboard or mechanical keyboard which can eject out or built-in the wrist watch band.
